President Trump said on Thursday that he will cancel his planned trip to Poland this weekend and instead send Vice President Mike Pence to stay in the United States to oversee Hurricane Dorian.
Speaking to reporters at Rose Garden, the President said it was "very important" for him to stay in Washington.
"Our highest priority is the safety of the American people on the path of the hurricane," said Trump.

According to forecasts, the storm on the way to Florida's Atlantic coast is becoming increasingly dangerous.
The storm is forecast to intensify into a dangerous category 3 hurricane by Friday, with the Bahamas remaining far to the east of the South and the center before heading for Florida on Sunday afternoon.
