President Donald Trump said he spoke with Tim Cook about tariffs and Apple's South Korean competitor Samsung.
Trump said Cook has made a "good case" for Apple's difficulty in paying fares if Samsung does not face the same hurdle because much of its production is in South Korea.
"I thought he made a very convincing argument," Trump told reporters on Sunday. The president said he would have dinner with Apple's CEO on Friday.

"It's hard for Apple to pay fares if it's competing with a very good company it is not," Trump said.
Tariffs delayed until December include consumer electronics such as mobile phones. Apple's stock closed 4% on Tuesday after Trump made that decision.
Apple is expected to release its new version of the iPhone in September.
