Trump slams demeds after the viral photo of children in cages, from Obama's term "misfires"

President Trump hit Democrats on Tuesday, sharing pictures of migrant children sleeping in Cages to stop his immigration policy, only to go back after they realized the photos were taken during the Obama administration.

"Democrats falsely tweeted 2014 images of Obama's term showing children from the border in steel cages," Trump tweeted. "They thought it was new pictures to make us look bad, but setbacks."

A photo of children in a cell was repeatedly outraged over the weekend over indignation over the Trump administration's policy of separating illegal immigrants from their children on the southern border.

Trump opponents who shared the photo included activists, journalists and former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau, who said, "This is happening right now, and the only debate that counts is how we force our government To bring these children back to their families as soon as possible. "

This photo and other related images were published in 2014 by The Arizona Republic, deep in Obama's second term. Favreau later deleted the tweet, as did others who had used the images to blow up the Trump administration.

On Tuesday, Trump Adviser Kellyanne Conway told Fox & Friends that the backlash suggests that these critics were only interested in the photos as partisan weapons.

"They did not really care about the history of migrant children," she said.

The photos were spread during a debate on the Ministry of Justice's zero-tolerance policy when it comes to arresting illegal immigrants. This policy applies to all illegal border crossings to law enforcement. Because children can not be held in adult detention centers, they are often separated.

The Department of Justice says the goal is to prevent potential illegal immigrants from crossing the border, even though critics say it is inhuman.

"If you cross the border unlawfully, we will prosecute you, it's as simple as that," said Attorney General Jeff Sessions this month. "If you smuggle a child, we will prosecute you, and that child may be separated from you as the law requires."

On Tuesday, Trump also called for a "two-party law" that would include financing the Wall on the southern border and "new border protection for the good of the country".

It recalls a tweet that Trump sent on Saturday when he called on Democrats to "stop the terrible law of segregating children of [their] parents as soon as they cross the border into the US" and include demands for stricter immigration laws.
