A massive missile from the United Launch Alliance Atlas V conquered the United Stateson Thursday into space. The missile had the official Space Force logo when it launched an Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellite into orbit.
Atlas started from a launch pad at Cape Canaveral in Florida. ULA̵
The Atlas V booster cleanly separated from the upper tier of the centaurs, which will put the satellite into orbit on the last leg of its journey. “The successful staging and ignition of the Centaur upper stage is confirmed!” ULA tweeted. Centaur is expected to release the satellite almost six hours after launch.
General Jay Raymond, chief of space, tweeted a look at the Space Force, which was between an American flag and the ULA Atlas logo. “Despite COVID-19 we are ready to go” he tweeted The previous Thursday, this mission was described as the first launch of the space force’s national security room.
The satellite is the last in a series of six Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) launches. “AEHF satellites provide global, viable, and protected communications capabilities for strategic commands and tactical warfighters operating on ground, sea, and air platforms,” said ULA.
