One day after the controversial Turbo Building update, Epic Turbo Building has reverted to pre-patch status with a few changes.
Well, that did not take long.
Epic has made less of a decision Two days after the Turbo Build update, the mechanics have been reset to pre-10.20.
The customization was not as easy as a reset. Epic has changed the building mechanics to prevent turtles and neutralize the ping advantage that has been so evident at Fortnite since the competition began.
Epic posted a blog on August 28 describing the changes to the turbo building and the next steps for the mechanic. The important news is that the Turbo Build Timer is now reset to 0.05s, where it was before v1
The New Turbo Build
Here are the updates listed in Epic's blog post:
- Turbo Build Date for Placement Following Parts reset from 0.15 seconds to 0.005 * seconds.
- After a structure is destroyed, a 0.15 second timer is displayed before another part can be placed in the same location.
- When two players try to place a piece at the same time and place it was destroyed, a random shot determines which piece is placed instead of pinging, which is so important.
Well, ping has practically nothing to do with whether you can take a wall or not. Theoretically, half of the time you conquer a wall and the other half of your opponent will keep the wall.
More importantly, the 0.15-second Turbo Build Timer is still valid when you try to replace a structure. SMG shots will still come through and you will still be destroyed by a minigun.
All in all, this change is a win. Those who hate the turtle meta can break through without affecting the rest of their building abilities.
Phased Through Walls
As you can see, the succession of phases through walls has a nearly 100% success rate. You also do not have to use any devious tactics or exploits. All you need is a ramp on top of you and a pickaxe.
It looks like it was the case yesterday, but the current Turbo Build mechanics seem to be here in the long run.
How about that – Fortnite will not die. Now Epic just has to remove the 'Mech and we'll be golden.
