Minnesota Twins’ outfielder, Max Kepler, was shot at for posting a photo of himself wearing a face mask titled “Blue Lives Matter” amid George Floyd’s protests.
Kepler seemed to post the photo on Instagram. The mask appeared to have a black and white representation of an American flag with a blue line in the middle.

The flag symbolizes the “Blue Lives Matter” group, which supports police officers in the USA. However, some found it uncomfortable that Floyd died in a police incident in which an officer knelt on the back of his neck.

“I used to post a photo of myself in a mask that a company sent me to wear during the pandemic. I had no idea that the mask was based on any conclusions – I just loved it. After I was informed, I dismantled the post immediately, ”said Kepler.
“I take full responsibility for not knowing what I was wearing. I am really sorry for the pain my actions have caused, especially now. Racism has no place in our world and I in no way support the actions that we have all witnessed that have led to George Floyd’s death. My sympathy goes to the Floyd family. “
The previous Thursday, the twins were among the professional sports teams in Minnesota that released statements about the Floyd incident.
