;, he said yesterday in a tweet posted on his official Twitter account. Emirati physics we are proud of in our Arab world ».
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s official report released a picture of His Highness and the respected Emirates physicist when His Highness awarded him the Emirates Pride Medal in January 2019, where he became the first Emirati to be admitted to postdoctoral studies at the Institute for Advanced Princeton University Studies received In the United States and for his PhD in Physics from the University of California and for Best PhD Thesis Award from the University of California in math, science, and engineering.
His Highness official report also posted another photo of Al-Muhairi while he was doing his advanced work and research at the university.

The pioneering award foundation, also known as the “Oscar of Science”, announced that Emirati physicist Ahmed Al Muhairi and his team of four scientists have won the New Horizon Prize for discovering the calculation of the quantum information content of the black hole and its radiation. In addition to Al Muhairi, the team consists of Nita Engelhardt from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Henry Maxfield from the University of California at Santa Barbara and Geoff Pennington from the University of California at Berkeley.
The New Horizon Award is highly regarded in scientific and academic circles around the world and has a broad media impact, as it is known as the “Oscar for Science”. Every year a group of art stars and celebrities attend the annual ceremony. News about the award and its winners are distributed across various universities and news channels.
The New Horizon Award was launched by a coalition of founders from the world’s largest technology and digital investment companies, in particular Sergey Brin, founder of Google, Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, and Yuri, Julia Milner, Anne Wojcicki. The awards are sponsored by the personal foundations created by Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan, Mark Zuckerberg, Ma Huating (Chinese Tenet Corporation), Jack Ma (Alibaba Company), Yuri, Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki.
The New Horizon Prize recognizes transformative discoveries in the fields of life sciences, physics, and mathematics. It is considered one of the most valuable scientific awards as it handed out more than $ 250 million in prizes that 3,000 scientists have won since its inception in 2012.
This year’s edition features a total of $ 18.75 million in prize money. Given the current situation and the coronavirus outbreak, this year the honor was held from a distance rather than a private ceremony.
There are 3 categories of award, the $ 3 million breakthrough award, and 6 winners were announced at this year’s edition. The second title deals with the New Horizon Prize and the prize is $ 100,000. Six winners have been announced in this world, including the Emirates physicist Ahmed Al Muhairi and his team. The third title is a special award for young women scientists valued at US $ 50,000 called the Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize, an Iranian scientist who is one of the best-known young scientists who passed away in 2017. At this year’s meeting, three winners of this award were announced. It is noteworthy that Dr. Ahmed Eid Al-Muhairi, who was referred to as “Einstein’s colleague”, was born in 1986 and was the first Emirati to be admitted to postdoctoral studies at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton University in the USA, the world’s most important institute for theoretical physics research. It includes the world famous physicist Albert Einstein over the last 20 years of his life.

Al Muhairi received a PhD in physics from the University of California in the United States, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto in the Engineering Science Program – specializing in physics – and the award for the best PhD from the University of California in the US in math, science, and engineering. The young Emirati scientist devotes his time to advancing physical research and has completed research cited more than 1,500 times by other researchers around the world.
