Waymos first commercial pilot is small, but Wall Street has big predictions for the financial future of the company.
Alongside Waymo, a number of other tech and automotive companies are launching to launch their own self-propelled taxi services, including GM's Cruise and Uber. While Waymo's technology is widely considered the most advanced technology, as highlighted by its launch on Wednesday, there are still a number of regulatory and security concerns. Waymos pilot will still include safety drivers to monitor rides, for example, at least initially.
Overall, UBS estimates the total value of Waymo at between $ 25 and $ 135 billion, with a base valuation of $ 75 billion. Morgan Stanley estimated Waymo at $ 45 billion in August, with potential that could reach $ 175 billion.
