UCF unveiled "National Champions" supplement to the stadium in the spring game

This straight in-UCF will not give up its self-proclaimed "national championship".

On Saturday, the Knights held their spring game at Spectrum Stadium in Orlando and played for the first time in front of their fans since 13-0 in 2017, arguing that – even though they were not picked up in the College Football playoff – they did in fact national champions instead of Alabama were.

Obviously, UCF still holds on to this claim, having unveiled a "2017 National Champions" mark during the spring game.

In honor of the Knights, they have defeated Auburn ̵

1; the only team that will beat Alabama in 2017 – in the Peach Bowl. However, UCF played a worse conference schedule to remain undefeated before being tested by Memphis in the AAC Championship Game and the Tigers in Atlanta.

This is slightly different from playing through an SEC plan, resulting in a one-loss record that led both Alabama and Georgia to Selection Sunday.

Nothing says "inferiority complex" like the assertion of a nonexistent national championship. It will be interesting to see how the Knights do in the post-Scott Frost era, but if the revelation was an indication, false "glory days" will surely pass them.
