Psychoanalysts in the US apologize for earlier labeling of homosexuality as a mental disorder, almost two weeks after the NYPD apologized for the 1969 police raid at the Stonewall Inn that started a movement, The Hill reports.
"It is a long past to acknowledge and apologize for our role in the discrimination and injury caused by our profession," said Lee Jaffe, president of the American Psychoanalytic Association, in a statement.
