US. Stock futures indicated marginal gains at the opening on Wednesday after a record close in the previous session.
The market focus is broadly on the earnings season after the Nasdaq and S & P 500 indices reached record highs in the previous session, with more than feared big business numbers.
"If there's a profit recession out there, it's hard to tell in the latest earnings series," said Ed Yardeni, president and chief investment strategist at Yardeni Research.
Tuesday's move towards an all-time high ended in less than six months after a sharp decline at the end of December, leading the S & P 500 to its worst annual performance since 2008. However, stock prices quickly turned around as the Federal Reserve reversed its course monetary policy, while the tone in US-China trade talks improved.
