One of the practical innovations that Google introduced with Pixel 3 was the call screen. Now, Google is preparing to solve one of the most frustrating parts of this feature by adding call-screen transcripts.
The best gifts for Android users
As noted in the Google Support Forums, call-screen transcripts are coming pretty soon. Many people have publicly complained about the lack of this option for an otherwise fantastic feature, so it's good to see that Google hears customer feedback and changes accordingly.
Google says the call screen transcripts will be activated later "for pixel owners who use the feature. A commentary on the matter indicates that these transcripts are automatically stored in the dialer app after the call has ended and are available for later viewing. Apparently, beta testers for the Google Phone app will support this feature first, later in the year.
Hey Lon – Thanks for your feedback. I am pleased to announce that we will start supporting the transcript storage later this year. The transcript for the monitored part of the call will automatically be saved in your call log after the call has ended. You can access it from the Call Details section of a single call log item. This will be available first for our public beta testers and then for all Pixel 3 users later this year.
