Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax was facing the threat of impeachment just hours after a second woman indicted the Democrat for sexual assault.
Patrick Hope, a Democrat colleague and Member of the Virginia House of Deputies, announced on Friday that he intends to introduce articles of impeachment against Fairfax if he does not resign until Monday.
"I will introduce articles of impeachment against Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax on Monday if he has not resigned before," Hope wrote on Twitter
An attorney for prosecutor Meredith Watson said in a statement that Fairfax had lost his client Raped in 2000 while studying at Duke University. The lawyer called the attack "deliberate and aggressive".
The first woman to accuse Fairfax of sexual misconduct, Vanessa Tyson, claims this incident occurred during the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston.

Fairfax has denied the allegations against him. He said Friday that they were part of a smear campaign against him and did not intend to resign.
Virginia was devoured by a series of racial scandals involving Gov. Ralph Northam and Attorney General Mark Herring, both Democrats their use of Blackface while studying. Both men have signaled that they have no intention of resigning – despite resignations from a large number of Democrats with a national profile.
The allegations against Fairfax have also led him to leave his post. US Senator Tim Kaine, D-Va., Wrote on Twitter late Friday that Fairfax could "no longer serve the Commonwealth effectively."
"We can never ignore or tolerate sexual assault," wrote Kaine Hillary Clinton was vice president in the 2016 presidential election.

, A number of other foremost Virginia Democrats have also called on Fairfax to resign from members of the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus.
"Given the recent sexual assault against Vice Governor Justin Fairfax, the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus believes it is best that Lt. Governor Fairfax resign from his position." Caucus said in a statement.
