Authorities have identified the victims of Sunday's shootings, in which four people were killed in a Waffle House in Tennessee. They were identified as the 29-year-old Taurean C. Sanderlin, the 20-year-old Joe R. Perez, the 21-year-old DeEbony Groves and the 23-year-old Akilah Dasilva.

Two patients were cared for at Vanderbilt University Hospital on Sunday, one was in critical condition and the other was listed in the stable.

The mayor of Nashville David Briley described the shooting as " a tragic day " for the city.

"My heart goes to the families and friends of every person who was killed or wounded," Briley said in a statement. "I know that their whole lives are forever changed by this devastating crime."

DeEbony Groves of Gallatin was in the restaurant and was fatally shot.

Local media write that Groves has been remembered as a brilliant young woman and tough basketball player. She was an exceptional student and star athlete at Gallatin High School before enrolling at Belmont University, where she was included in the Dean's list

"She was a brilliant young lady, very, very intelligent and very hard Worker, "former Gallatin High School basketball coach Kim Kendrick said about Groves. "She was a very likeable young lady, one of three seniors in her team, and she was a great role model for the other players because of her hard work and dedication to her studies and school."

Groves was a senior at Belmont University focusing on social work.

Akilah DaSilva, 23

Akilah DaSilva of Antioch was seriously injured in the restaurant and later died at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The family told his girlfriend, 21-year-old Shanita Wagoner, was one of those injured in the filming. They said she had surgery and the doctors "tried to save her leg".
