Walmart's in-home delivery service, announced in June, is now available to over 1 million customers in three US cities: Kansas City, Missouri; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Vero Beach, Florida. With this service, Walmart camera assistants can enter your home and deliver food directly to your fridge.
The Walmart service is not cheap. You'll need to pay $ 49.95 in advance for the company to install the Level Home Smart Lock or Nortek garage door technology that its employees need to come home. There is also a monthly fee of $ 19.95 (though this is the case in the first month) for free). This fee will give you unlimited deliveries, though there must be at least $ 30 worth of items to qualify for InHome Delivery.
If the idea of a driver delivering supplies directly to your home is well known, then it's because Amazon has been offering the same thing from its key house delivery service for some time. The Amazon service, introduced in 2017, has since expanded to allow delivery drivers to access your garage or even the trunk of your car. The British supermarket Waitrose has tested a similar service in the UK.
You can check with InHome.Walmart.com if your address is eligible.
