Meet Governor Zack Morris. The character, known for his wild high school plans, has landed in the California Governor's mansion in NBC's upcoming reboot of Saved by the Bell. In the broadcast Gov. Morris' difficulties in closing too many low-income high schools, and his solution to the problem, is to send some of these students to the state's more powerful schools, including Bayside High. As soon as the low-income children arrive in Bayside, the school's privileged students, according to Hollywood reporters, get a dose of reality.
The restart of Saved By the Bell will be carried out for the first time in 2020. He will not be televised, however. If you want to see it, you need to sign up for another streaming service.
"Saved By The Bell" is restarted via NBC's new peacock streaming service.
The revival of the sitcom from the early '90s is one of several reboots planned for Peacock, NBCUniversal's new streaming service. In addition to an updated Save By the Bell featuring Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) and Mario Lopez (AC Slater), the network also plans a reboot of Battlestar Galactica and a new version of Punky Brewster, with the original star Soleil Moon Frye as a single mother of three young girls.
Peacock – the name is inspired by the network's famous logo – will hit the market in the spring, according to the Hollywood Reporter, although the originals will not arrive until the summer. The streaming service will also contain more than 15,000 hours of other content and will be the only place where streaming shows such as Parks and Recreation and The Office can be streamed. NBC is reportedly spending $ 500 million to regain rights to the latter program.
Other shows that Peacock will show exclusively sometime are Monk, Friday Night Lights, Frasier, Saturday Night Live, and Will & Grace. New shows include a spin-off of Real Housewives and a limited-edition adaptation of the dystopian novel Brave New World with Demi Moore. Also on the horizon is Rutherford Falls, a new sitcom by Mike Schur, the producer of The Office. Movies from Universal Pictures, Focus Features, DreamWorks Animation and 3,000 hours Spanish programming from Telemundo are also available.
How much is Peacock ?
NBC has not announced a launch date for Peacock, and we do not know how much it will cost. The service is supported by subscriptions as well as by ads. Specific subscription details are available closer to the start date.
While Peacock will officially arrive in the spring, the big boost will come in the summer. NBC plans to heavily promote the service during the 2020 Olympics.
Peacock is not the only new streaming service on the horizon
Peacock is just one of many new streaming services that will compete for the viewers' attention next year. Disney Plus and Apple TV Plus will be launched in November and HBO Max in April. In addition to existing services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and CBS All Access, this also includes other niche offerings such as Criterion Channel, BritBox, Hallmark Movies Now and DC Universe as well as live TV streaming services such as Sling, Philo. YouTube TV and PlayStation Vue.
The result is what some have called "streaming wars" as different companies try to attract viewers with exclusive content and low subscription prices. For example, the much-talked-about Disney Plus costs $ 6.99 a month and includes access to new shows such as the Star Wars Spinoff Mandalorian and hundreds of films, including animated classics such as Bambi and 101 Dalmatians.
A recent Deloitte survey found that some people are becoming increasingly frustrated with the sheer number of streaming options. Respondents indicated that they would like to be able to select the services that contain the content they want. But people also said they were frustrated when shows from the streaming services disappeared (as happens when The Office leaves Netflix in 2020). Others reported that they had difficulty finding the broadcasts they wanted to see if the offers were spread across multiple services.
