"Matrix 4" was officially illuminated in green!
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will repeat their roles as Neo and Trinity, while Lana Wachowski, who helped shape the original trilogy, is also involved in the project.  Lana will write, direct and produce the film. It is accompanied by the writers Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell and the producer Grant Hill to Variety.

Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich announced the news on Tuesday.
"We could not be more excited to reenter the Matrix with Lana," Emmerich said in a statement to Variety. "Lana is a true visionary – a unique and creative filmmaker – and we are thrilled to write, direct, and produce this new chapter in the Matrix universe."

Lana added, "Many of the ideas that Lilly [Wachowski] and I voiced about our reality 20 years ago are even more relevant now. I am very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another opportunity to work with my brilliant friends.
Variety reported that the producers intend to begin working on the film early next year, details of which are currently unknown.

The first "Matrix" movie came out released in the spring of 1999 and was a critical and commercial hit, producing two sequels, 2003's The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Overall, the three films made at the global box office more than 1.6 billion US dollars.
