Kevin Durant is not far behind Thompson, with 28 points per game, including 32 in Game 2. The duo helped Golden State, the second star of the Western Conference, to get an average of 18 points in this series, even without Stephen Curry who is out with a sprained left knee.
"Nobody can customize Steph's contributions," Thompson said Monday Associated Press . "It has to be done as a team and even then it's hard with the way he can shoot the ball."
LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for the Spurs with 24 points and seven rebounds per game, but he is one of only three players from San Antonio who are in the double digits with Rudy Gay and Patty Mills.
San Antonio hopes home games, where they beat 33-8 in the regular season, are the third best home record in the NBA.
