Motivated by the sad news of Telltale's majority demise, former employee Jake Rodkin – who left the studio several years ago to found Campo Santo – and none of those who were laid off without compensation, shot videos of prototypes, Goofs uploaded and "DVD bonus features" on YouTube. So far, the videos at Old Telltale Stuff have focused on the studio's middle period, games like Sam & Max, Awesome Cool Game for Ingenious People, Back to the Future and The First Season of The Walking Dead.
The highlight so far has been an alternate version of the scene from The Walking Dead, in which Lee plays a glove of zombies. As a way to release steam towards the end of production, it shows a side of the team that would really allow Tales from the Borderlands to develop. (Spoiler for The Walking Dead, Obv.)
Other highlights include the developer commentary for all three seasons by Sam & Max and Back to the Future, Blooper roles, a video of Lee quietly and modestly occupied with an empty cabinet, and a spontaneous Strong Bad episode that was created with the help of the PAX audience.
I will leave you with something less funny. This compilation of behind-the-scenes footage from the office showing how people say goodbye to "The Walking Dead", enjoy "Wine Fridays" and pick up reference material for battle scenes by beating each other with foam props is made bittersweet by knowing how it would end up for them. Hopefully they will land on their feet.
