West Virginia Mine: Arrest warrants for 4 people who have been trapped

The Raleigh District Sheriff Bureau issued arrest warrants this week for the four people who entered a sealed mine and were trapped.

43-year-old Eddie Williams Jr. is charged without breaking, conspiring, and giving the law enforcement false information, the sheriff's office said. The sheriff's office said on Friday that warrants had also been issued for Kayla Williams 25, Erica Treadway, 31, and Cody Beverly, 21, in connection with entering the mine, but there were no charges.

CNN has filed a statement with the Sheriff's Office of Raleigh County. 19659005] The four were reported missing on December 8th.

Two days later, Williams escaped from the Rock House Powelltone mine in Clear Creek.

They went to an abandoned mine to steal copper, police say. Then they were locked up.

He told the authorities that three others were trapped in the mine and named their location, according to the governorship of West Virginia. Williams, Treadway and Beverly were finally rescued on December 12 and taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The three were awake, talking and leaving without help, Sheriff Scott Van Meter of Raleigh County said after the rescue.

"It's a miracle they were found alive," said Van Meter.

The underground mine is inactive and sealed, Contura Energy, whose subsidiary Elk Run Coal owns the property, said CNN.

Joe Sutton and Madeline of CNN Holcombe contributed to this report.
