What Twilight would have looked like with the intended cast

Before the Twilight books were adapted for the big screen, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and the vast majority of the cast were relatively unknown, with only a handful of jobs between them.

It was the vampire saga that put them on the map and the rest, as they say, is history.

But it wasn̵

7;t always that specific.

Writer Stephenie Meyer had her own ideas about who should star in the films that BuzzFeed discovered on their website, and several names were considered, as always, for the different parts.

“Just look at those lips!” She wrote. “Love her!”

Lily Collins (extremely evil, shockingly evil, and mean, Spiegel Spiegel) was also considered for the role of Bella.

“That (the audition) was many years ago,” she told CraveOnline. “I was new to the scene, new to audition, and it was always like, ‘What’s going to happen?’ Everyone in the waiting room is waiting for you. One of those scared days as a young actor. “

But she decided against it in the end because she had already shown up in Buffy.

“I’ve already done the vampire thing,” she added.

Jennifer Lawrence read for the part too.

Lawrence was chatting about her audition on the Howard Stern Show and said, “I didn’t really know what it was. You only get five pages and they say ‘Act Monkey’. And when it came out I said, ‘Damn it. Whoa! ‘ “

Ellen Page (Umbrella Academy, Juno) and Danielle Panabaker (The Flash, Shark) were also flown.

“The only actor I’ve ever seen who I think could almost get Edward Cullen out of the way,” wrote Meyer. Great praise.

Cavill (The Witcher, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice) was viewed as too old to play the role in the end, but she thought he might be a good match for Carlisle Cullen, the Patriarch of Cullen.

Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist, Now You See Me) shot Edward.

“I don’t know how close I was,” he told MTV.

When asked if he thought he had a chance, he said, “No, no, no. At this point, I still don’t know what I’m doing. At that point, I was over my head.”

Another name associated with the role was Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek, 90210).

“I did my best Edward Cullen,” he told AccessHollywood.com.

Then he joked about losing because he doesn’t have a British accent.

“So I didn’t get the job,” he added.

Michael Welch, who ultimately played the human Michael Newton, also auditioned.

Speaking to MTV, he said, “As much as I appreciate my representatives who think I could become incredibly beautiful – the most beautiful creature you will ever see on the planet – I am not quite … Then I have for them Auditioned role by Eric … I’ve auditioned for pretty much every role beforehand [being cast as] Mike. “

Other names reportedly considered included Shiloh Fernandez (Jericho, United States of Tara), Ben Barnes (The Punisher, Westworld), Jackson Rathbone, who was later cast as Jasper, and Jamie Campbell Bower, who eventually became Caius in the new played moon.

Taylor Lautner was selected to play the werewolf Jacob Black and he did a good job.

But Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) was also controversial.

“I was very excited because I was a fan of [Kristen Stewart’s]”He said to MTV.

“I’ve seen Taylor Lautner auditioning all of those auditions and I knew he auditioned for Twilight too. I remember seeing him auditioning a few months later and thinking, ‘Hey man, what were you doing? ‘And he said, “I was shooting Twilight.”

“That’s when I found out that I didn’t get the part.”

Embarrassing.

Michael Copon (Beyond Break, Power Rangers Time Force) was also considered for the role.

Lucy Hale – Alice Cullen and Jane

Alice Cullen’s part went to Ashley Greene, but Lucy Hale (Katy Keene, Pretty Little Liars) threw her hat in the ring too.

She was talking to PopEater and said, “I auditioned for Twilight. It was for Ashley Greene. She plays Alice. I didn’t even have a clue what Twilight was back then.”

Hale also read for Jane, a vampire who was part of the Volturi Guard, but that went to Dakota Fanning (The Alienist, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood).

“I have read [for the role]”She said to Twist.” We had some conversations about it. But I think they just offered Dakota Fanning, the role I was interested in, which is great – I’m a huge fan of her. “

Julia Jones was cast as Leah Clearwater in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, but Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical, The Princess Switch) was reportedly in the running to play the werewolf.

Channing Tatum – Riley Beers

Riley Biers from Eclipse, played by Xavier Samuel, was part of the vampire army put together by Victoria, the big bad guy who wanted to kill Bella.

Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplay for Twilight and New Moon, told E! Online, Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street) would be an ideal solution.

“There is a very big fight with Riley in the end and I think Channing would do it so well,” she said.

“This character has some complexities. He’s really tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria. So he’ll have to break your heart a bit in the end when he realizes she doesn’t want him. Channing could do this wonderfully.”
