WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton appeared as a speaker at a Stanford University class earlier this week discussing the decision to sell the company to Facebook and asking students to delete their Facebook accounts.
According to Buzzfeed News Acton spoke during a undergraduate study called Computer Science 181 alongside Ellyla Israni, a former Facebook employee, founder of She ++. During class, Acton talked about why he sold Whatsapp to Facebook, why he sold Whatsapp, and why he left.
In his presentation, he noted that big social media companies like Apple and Google had trouble moderating their content. "These companies are unable to make these decisions," he said.
