The letter read: "Gentlemen, I declare my agreement to a marriage contract between my most beloved grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle under the Great Seal and the Books to be received by the Privy Councilor.

The Queen's letter of permission from Prince William and Kate Middleton had a different wording that some Royal Watchers considered for Markle.

As it turned out, the wording was due to the royal protocol. The Queen wrote to Middleton as "Our trusting and beloved Katharina Elizabeth Middleton" in her and Prince William's marriage clearance letter.
