Why the Oscar odds of Robert Downey Jr. got worse

It does not look as if Marvel's Robert Downey Jr. will win an Oscar for his appearance in "Avengers: Endgame" this year's Oscars. Although we all know that part of this series was interrupted because Black Panther fought for the title "Best Picture" last year, almost everyone could bet he would not win. The film industry drew Robert Downey Jr for his services as Patriarch of the MCU. We all remember the Russo Brothers who wanted the Oscars to recognize what Downey did for the Marvel franchise and his special performance in Avengers: Endgame. Since then a lot has changed. For example, Disney has posted a website ad titled Endgame for anything but Best Actor. Downey's recent actions against his nomination have probably helped.

Does "Endgame" have a shot at all of Disney's wanted Oscars? dominate over every award category, including Best Picture. There is always the possibility that there will be a BP nod after Black Panther did the same for 201
9's "comic movie". It is far more realistic to believe that Disney could get Best Director Nicks for the Russians and Best Adapted Screenplay for Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

The movie will definitely be nominated (and probably also winning) category Best Visual Effects. Other smaller categories could also win.

Disney has left out noticeably Robert Downey, Jr., who was possibly intentional because Downey had come to Disney to stay out of the competition. Perhaps we can regard this as his further attempt to transpose a philosophy of aesthetic distance away from Marvel.

Robert Downey Jr.'s actions will not help him win an Oscar.

News that Downey recently dropped No interest in following an Oscar campaign for nodding as Best Actor. He explained this when he appeared on Howard Stern's Sirius XM show, adding that he chose not to launch a campaign just because he knew it would go uphill, or at least not yet. Stern pointed this out to Downey during the interview and persuaded him not to use campaign energy.

Let's make it clear: even if Downey does not fight for himself, it does not. I mean, he still could not get a nomination if enough industry influencers manage to vote for him.

Many have championed something of a kind of allusion to Downey's overall stance, such as Tony Stark. Big names like Jon Favreau and probably others who are silent would not hesitate to add Downey's name to the mix.

Why do the Oscars ignore comic movies ?

Because Downey practiced a form of distancing Marvel at re-establishing a sense of reality, and see how he intentionally retreats to uphold his philosophy. On the other hand, he could get a more complete picture of the strength of the Best Actor category in 2020.

Many filmmakers have predicted a crowded list of great male performers for Oscar The biggest favorites to date are Adam Driver for the Marriage Story and Joaquin Phoenix for the Joker most bet on riders. You can be sure that Downey knows this and makes a push for his own Oscar nomination a trivial matter.

Maybe we will be surprised and he will be nominated at the last minute. Then we would see if he would also maintain an aesthetic distance to the Oscars if he knew that he would not win.
