Winter storm Quiana hammered the Southwest with heavy snowfall Wednesday and Thursday, bringing rare wintry precipitation to parts of Greater Los Angeles.

The snowstorm caused major problems for travel in northern Arizona on Thursday, shutting down parts of several interstates and closing Flagstaff Pulliam Airport for much of the day , By the evening, Flagstaff had already reported its snowiest single day on record, with more than 31

inches of falling snow on Thursday alone.

The travel extended into California, where the Grapevine portion of Interstate 5 was closed for an extended period Thursday while plows cleared the roadway. But in areas like Calabasas, Pasadena and suburban Thousand Oaks.
