ALAMEDA, California. While Oakland Raiders' recipient Antonio Brown was not asked about his separation from his former quarterback on Tuesday after Ben Roethlisberger apologized for his treatment in Pittsburgh, Brown praised his new QB, Derek Carr, immensely.
Brown has also shed some light on how he copes with new team-mate Vontaze Burfict, who threw Brown at Cincinnati Bengals after beating his head off a playoff game.
"It's hugely important A relationship outside the field because you get mentally tired playing football," Brown said after the OTA training in the Raiders' second week. "You're getting frustrated, you always want to have that respect for a guy, to know where he comes from, what he stands for and what's important to him, so you're on the same page and what you want to do ̵
How exactly would Brown then acquire for a third and fifth? "I think it's really growing," he said, "making many deposits so we have a lot on the bench." Very grateful Being out here and putting the work into action Show these guys what I'm doing on and off the field and it's exciting to build that correlation and see how it works here. " In nine seasons with the Steelers Brown went together with Roethlisberger six times in the playoffs. In ten playoff games Brown scored 51 passes for 837 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile Carr has to play in the postseason. The Raiders fell in the playoffs to the Houston Texans in 2016 as he recovered from a broken right ankle at the end of the season in Week 16.
Carr is a fan of "visualization" and says that he studies tapes of his receivers from their previous stops.
"That's huge and seeing someone break on a route – because you only get a split half the time, second, when you see them break, you do not get to see the whole picture – I throw behind massive bodies and just needs to know that the ball should be there, "Carr said last week.
] "I watch how these people walk these routes and how they break, anyway, look at it, especially at AB The success he and Ben had was stupid not to see what they were doing I would be a fool to say, "Ah, no, let's do it the way we want it." No, let me see what you all did well, because we can do the same things here, you wear just another color. "
Brown and Carr were famed in the Pro Bowl in 2018.
"Being with DC in the Pro Bowl was really a fun experience," said Brown, "you know seeing his passion as a quarterback, seeing his detail and I think we had a moment like 'Dang, that was pretty cool. "It's God's plan to take a route [able] and be in that position to look back from that day."
And when it came to Burfict, Brown said he had no evil will.
"Well, football is football," Brown said, "you know, of course, the player that I am, there's always a direct hit on me, I know, if I have the light under my lugs, the boys will Take a risk and try to hurt me, but it's not personal, it's only part of the game.
"It's not as if he beat me off the field. Then that would be a bigger problem, you know? But it is football. You play the game long enough, you "you get hit hard, and you know that's just part of the game."
