There's never a boring moment with this Yankees team. According to DJ Eberle New York will call both Luis Cessa and Luke Voit. This must indicate a pitcher injury as Cessa was last opted on July 26th and in case of injury can only be called back quickly. It is possible that J.A. Happ is placed on the DL while recovering from hand-foot-and-mouth disease.
Cessa, 26, has thrown a 3.10 ERA with a 4.05 FIP this season in sporadic big-league appearances. His last start took place on July 25 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Cessa allowed two runs over 5.1
Cessa is not sure how he will use the Yankees in Boston.
Luis Cessa was not told what his role with the Yankees would be except to be ready. Could start or get out of the bullpen. #Yankees

The obvious bet, however, is that he will fill in for Happ.
Voit joined the organization as the Yankees Chasen exchanged Shreve and Giovanny Gallegos for the Cardinals. The 27-year-old First Baseman has knocked down Triple-A Pitching with 2.99 / .391 / .500 with nine homers for Triple-A Memphis. The big league level, however, was not yet friendly to the racket. He struck .182 / .308 / .455 with a home running in limited time with St. Louis. He's a right-handed man with pop, and that's something the Yankees could be more right now.
We will update this post if we have more information about the trains involved.
Happ places on the 10-day disabled list. The good news is that he's probably just going to miss a start. That's not what the Yankees hoped for from their new pitcher, but at least it's just a disease and not a physical injury.
