Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the Houston Astros and the New York Yankees takes place at Minute Maid Park. The ALCS 2019 is a Series 2017 rematch that Houston won in seven games. The Astros sent right-hander Zack Greinke onto the hill and Masahiro Tanaka won the bid for the Yankees.

The first pitch came just after 8pm. ET, and both Greinke and Tanaka exchanged zeros in the beginning. The Yankees scored in the fourth inning for the first run of the game. DJ LeMahieu opened the frame with a single and then scored a Gleyber Torres double, giving New York a 1

-0 lead. Torres later scored a solo homer in the sixth round to extend New York's lead to 2-0 before Giancarlo Stanton scored his own solo homer 3-0 in the inning.

Preview: This year's ALCS is expected to be back and forth again. And this year's marquee matchup could even be better than "17" since both teams upgraded and upgraded .
