Your crossbreed: The color of New Horizons Airport could determine other object colors

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is full of small details – so much that people keep discovering new things about how the game works. One such discovery comes from Reddit user PraiseHolo, who observed an interesting pattern when resetting his island: it appears that the color of your airport determines the colors of some objects that you have access to, although the theory doesn’t seem to be fully supported because of an obvious contradiction to the colors of the snack machine.

By now you may have noticed that different New Horizons players have different versions of certain items in different colors. For every item with multiple color options, you have a “native”

; color on your island, and this is the only color sold at Nook’s Cranny. You also have a selection of items for which you can redeem Nook Miles on the machine in Resident Services. These items are also tied to one color per island. The Nook Miles awards are the items that appear to be affected by the color of the airport. You can see the alleged breakdown of color options in the graphic below, created and published by PraiseHolo. (Note that this is not confirmed.)

PraiseHolo explained in the Reddit thread that they would reset their island to get, among other things, a blue airport and black street lamps. “After many resets and playing the start quest about eight times (until the residents’ updated services so I could check the color of the street lamp), I realized that I was only getting green street lamps, and after a few more deferrals, I noticed that it was too other furniture also happened at the nook stop, such as the teacup ride. After looking through some people’s nook stop pictures, I found that the color of the furniture is not entirely accidental, that it is grouped together and the street lamp color is included color is locked in the airport, so it was impossible for me to get black street lights AND a blue airport. “

I myself have a yellow airport and everything in the picture matches what I have in the game (apart from the smaller furniture sets that match regardless of the airport color, which are shown in the reddish color and purple in the picture). However, some Reddit users replied to PraiseHolo saying that in particular they had different colors of the snack machine. While most of us at GameSpot found that our items matched PraiseHolo’s infographic, we also had one person with a discrepancy between vending machines.
