We have never seen Zac Efron like this before .
The actor ventures in the first trailer for "Extremly Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile," where he will play the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy.
Bundy brutally murdered and assaulted at least 30 women before being captured in 1978. His trial became a media circus when he tried to defend himself in court, won the support of female fans and won even suggested to his girlfriend while testifying for him. (FYI: She said yes) Bundy was executed in 1989 on an electric chair.
The film is told from the perspective of a former Bundy girlfriend, Liz Kloepfer ( Lily Collins ), about the terrible realization that the man she loves could actually be a vicious killer.
Based on the sneak-peek, the film is screened in Bundy's (fake arm sling and all) murder series as well as his arrest, Escape (yes, he's twice Escape ) and the process. Kaya Scodelario also appears as Carole Ann Boone, the woman who married him during the trial.
The film is directed by Joe Berlinger, who also created and directed the new Netflix documentaries, Talk to a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
"Extremly Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile" celebrates its premiere in Sundance this weekend.
