Few characters have such a high reputation as Superman. Although Henry Cavill is the current incarnation of the character, his reputation on the big screen reaches back nearly a century – with Christopher Reeves' version of Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie being considered iconic as one of the most popular and popular movies the hero. To honor this legacy, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder took social media to share a photo of Cavill in the Reeve suit, and it's basically the best of both worlds. Look at this:
Putting modern actors into classic superhero costumes is not an uncommon tactic among directors. In fact, Christian Bale featured for the role of Bruce Wayne Batman Begins while wearing a suit from the Joel Schumacher Batman era. However, this photo of Henry Cavill is particularly notable because it embodies the character character. The way the sun bathes him is incredibly reminiscent of the scene where Supes learns to fly Man of Steel and it seems to take a look at what Zack Snyder was up to when he was using the Development Began DCEU Film
This is not the first time that Zack Snyder has shared a photo of Henry Cavill in the classic Christopher Reeve suit. He shared photos of the early Man of Steel behind the scenes a few days earlier, but this Vero photo stands out because it throws a far more sophisticated look at what Snyder wanted to achieve with the character. Of course, it's also worth noting that Christopher Reeves Superman has been influencing the modern interpretation of Krypton's Last Son for years. The beloved, healthy nature of the character has left a lasting impression, as we see Superman as a hero, and there were even rumors that Zack Snyder Reeve had sneaked into Man of Steel when the movie debuted in 2013
Now we have to wonder if Henry Cavill will return to the Superman role again. There have been rumors about the character in films like David F. Sandberg's Shazam! emerges, and Cavill himself has expressed a desire to return to the role for further Adventures of the Justice League . Nonetheless, it has not yet been confirmed for all DC Extended Universe appearances, so we'll have to wait and see how the character's presence evolves as the new movie debut continues on the DCEU.
Stay tuned with CinemaBlend for any relevant updates related to the DCEU as more information becomes available. Aside from Superman, we will have a chance later this year to put Arthur Curry at the center when James Wan's Aquaman debuts on December 21st.
